First non-profit arbitration institution in Georgia, which is created based on the best international arbitration practice. GIAC represents most efficient dispute resolution institution in the entire Caucasus – Black Sea – Caspian Region. The GIAC Arbitration Rules reflect the needs of the parties combining recent developments in the field.

The Secretary General meets the Georgian Distributors Association

Major distribution companies operating on the Georgian market were introduced to the activities of the Georgian International Arbitration Centre (GIAC). The meeting took place at Georgian Distributors Association.

Due to specific nature of business, members of Georgian Distributors Association often engage in lawsuits with different entities and due to the high workload of common courts, the proceedings are often protracted. In order to tackle this problem, Georgian Distributors Association proposed to settle the disputes of its member companies through arbitration proceedings, which is alternative and effective means of dispute resolution.

Beka Injia, the Secretary General of GIAC, made a presentation on the advantages of arbitration proceedings. Mr. Injia presented audience with the general activities of the Arbitration Centre and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms administered by GIAC, among them newly drafted Fast Track Arbitration Rules, which is tailored to the needs of business in general and serves as an effective means for dispute resolution.
