GIAC IS PRESENTED IN THE WORKING GROUP ON ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION (ADR) IN THE SOUTH CAUCASUS
On May 12, 2022, Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) convened the first formal meeting of a working group on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in the South Caucasus. The mission of the new working group, which consists of members from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, is to help make ADR an affordable, available, and effective option for businesses to resolve cross border disputes in the region.
The GIAC is presented in the working group and the Secretary General of GIAC, Beka Injia participated in the meeting of the working group. During the meeting, Beka Injia discussed the prospective steps for developing the ADR in the region and about the role of GIAC in the process.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Beka Injia participated in the Eastern Europe & CIS International Arbitration Conference, which was held in Tbilisi, on May 13, 2022, in the panel on Challenges and Opportunities for Arbitration in the South Caucasus.
The working group plans to hold regional events in the coming year that help build the capacity of the region’s ADR community, while promoting regional cooperation and exchange of information.
