Updates in the GIAC Arbitration Council and the Board

On December 19, 2025, the 21st meeting of the GIAC Board was held. On the meeting, was presented the annual report, was discussed the next year action plan, as well new members og the board and arbitration council were elected.

Changes in Board Composition

Due to expiry of second term of the membership of current  member and in order to maintain the required number of members, the GIAC Secretariat announced a call for applications. Mr. Irakli Siradze expressed his interest in joining the Board. Mr. Siradze is a Managing Partner at Ecovis Georgia and possesses extensive experience in the public sector, including a tenure as Deputy Minister of Finance.

The Board members unanimously supported the election of Irakli Siradze, who will officially begin his duties on January 27, 2026. Additionally, the Board re-elected Giorgi Pertaia as the Chair of the Board for the next two-year term.

Changes in the Arbitration Council

Significant rotation took place within the composition of the Arbitration Council:
 
  • Rusudan Gergauli and David Khachvani joined the Council for a 3-year term. Their international experience in the field of arbitration will further strengthen the institutional capabilities of the Centre.
  • Farewell to the Chair: The term of the current Chair of the Council, Mariam Gotsiridze, expires on December 21 of this year. The GIAC Board expresses its deep gratitude to her for her dedicated activities and the invaluable contribution she has made to the development of the Centre.
  • Current Council member Nata Ghibradze was unanimously elected as the new Chair of the Council.

At the end of the meeting, the Secretary General of the Centre, Beka Injia, presented the 2025 report to the Board members and discussed plans for the upcoming year, which will support the development of the Centre and its positioning in our region.
